Re: Commercial Detection Just went South

Hi Erik;

I figured it out. I use VAP to process the recordings and call Comskip using Video Redo and what was happening was that VAP was not recognizing the new Comskip release and then, instead of using Comskip, used the native Video Redo commercial detection which is total crap.

Commercial Detection Just went South

Hi Erik; After using Comskip for years (maybe even a decade) the detection on one channel in particular has gotten really bad. 44 minute shows are now being cut down to 25 or 27 minutes. Are you available to take a look if I post up a recording and my .INI file? It's really causing me grief. Best &a...

Re: 903 - seems a lot slower ?

With threadcount set to 6 on my quad core processor it hits about 75% processor usage on all cores. This is the same as it did with the older versions so I would say it's fixed :mrgreen:

Re: Erik - Help w/Detection ?

Use the "always_keep_first_seconds" I'm working with that and not having any real success. If I set it to 30 seconds it just keeps 30 seconds and then cuts after that. So it seems this would only be useful if you knew the length of the opening scene. Is there some way to tell it to ignore...

Re: Erik - Help w/Detection ?

That seems to be working very well but it is cutting off the introduction of the shows (opening credits/scene). Any ideas on how to keep that in there?

It's very impressive otherwise! :mrgreen: I sent in a contribution earlier :)

Erik - Help w/Detection ?

Hi Erik! I've got a series that I record off one channel and sometimes comskip is perfect and other times it misses all commercials. I'm not sure why because it's about 20% of the recordings from that channel, for the same program, that it misses them all. Don't know if the broadcaster is doing some...

Re: 903 - seems a lot slower ?

Sounds good - although it was much faster in the previous release so it seems that something changed. It's not the end of the world - thanks for the new release! :mrgreen:

903 - seems a lot slower ?

Hi Erik! Thanks for the new release! :mrgreen: I installed it the other day and it seems to be much slower :shock: With the last version I would see +/- 98% processor usage. With this one it's something less then 25% when processing. It's processing H.264 .WTV files from my DVR. I tried settings the...

Re: ComSkip & Video Card Processing ?

I'd love to try it. I needed a video card so I bought this giant gaming card (I don't game) so it sits there doing nothing all day other then displaying the picture for my TV :oops: It would be neat to see it actually do some heavy lifting for a change :mrgreen:

Re: ComSkip & Video Card Processing ?

Hi Erik!

I'm using the donator version and generally it's all H.264 HD. Does this mean it will support using my video card and if so, what do I need to do to try it out?

It's an nVidia card if that matters.

ComSkip & Video Card Processing ?

Hi Erik;

I bought a pretty wild video card (nVidia) a while back and was wondering, can ComSkip use it for processing? It seems people use them for transcoding so I thought maybe it might be possible?

Re: Logo Location

Hi Eric - thanks for the reply (I'll look into it). Just a question, I used to use Show Analyzer years ago and remember the Schoolhouse. It was a GUI where you could play the file and it would show you the commercial detection. You could then change the options and re-run it and it would show you th...
