Re: Comskip.exe under Wine in Ubuntu Linux (12.04) Wine
Comskip worked for me in Ubuntu 12.04. In both of my tests I was using comskip81_051_donators with the default ini file except for setting live_tv=1 so that I could see if I was getting results without finishing a file. To have a better chance to see that it could work, I first tested with Debian (s...

Re: Comskip.exe under Wine in Ubuntu Linux (12.04) Wine
I'm no Linux guru, but I do rely on Comskip using Wine on OS X and happen to have a couple Linux virtual machines with Wine installed, one of which I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04. I'd be willing to pitch in and at least attempt to duplicate the problems you are seeing. Any specifics about how y...

Re: eyetv or HD detection problems
One more question if I may. Most of the time live detection looks like this: Wakeup after sleep [retries= 14, time= 0, size=3166] 1:00:28 - 110488 frames in 3604.91 sec(30.65 fps), 1.23 sec(27.64 fps), 0% Sleep while reading [retries= 15, time= 0, size=1036] Sleep while reading [retries= 14, time= 1...

Re: eyetv or HD detection problems
Error 103 means comskip was not able to write an output file. The time between the finishing of the recording and the writing of the final output file has indeed increased. OK, cool. Thanks. I can live with it but just in case there might be a workaround, here's how MarkCommercials calls com skip (...

Re: eyetv or HD detection problems
Hi Jeff and Eric, Jeff's report prompted me to try live detection again. (I last tried shortly before the olympics and I don't remember the details, but I ended up giving up since I wasn't sure it even should have been working.) My setup is like Jeff's except I've got EyeTV brand tuners, which are M...

Modify ETVComskip for Donators Version w/o Live Detection
The donators version as of comskip 0.81.023 doesn't yet support live detection, i.e., while recording. The default configuration of ETVComskip (2.0.x running under Wine) launches comskip when recording starts. It promptly stops. The workaround I used was to shift the comskip processing to the end of...

Re: eyetv or HD detection problems
Chris, Yes you are dead on, I have the donator version with eyetv-comskip installed with eyetv and trying to get H264. Maybe we can share .ini files or something. Thanks for the reply! Who's Chris? I assume you were responding to me though. H264? I'm running comskip against the default EyeTV...

Re: eyetv or HD detection problems
Can one you you post a short dedicated topic on how to adopt eyetv to get the current comskip donator version working? Preferrably with a nice catching topic line so google will find it. I could certainly do that. I just need to dig up the original scripts so that I'm writing about the default conf...

Re: eyetv or HD detection problems
I got everything working except for it won't mark the commercials itself I need to run the script manually after the recording in eyetv with from terminal ./Library/Application Support/ETVComskip/MarkCommercials.app/Contents/MacOS/MarkCommercials If you're using the donators version, it doesn't yet...
