Fix for EDL file not being generated after updating to 077
The log file is generated but the EDL file is missing. At the end of the log file I see "Could not open video codec". Solution: Edit comskip.ini or run ComskipINIEditor. Under the CPU Load Reduction section, change: hardware_decode=( Not Set ) to: hardware_decode=0 If "hardware_decode...

INI file for Australia
Anyone have a 2014-2015 Aussie INI file that works well with Australian channels? I have one from 2 years ago but it isn't doing too well nowadays. Lots of commercials are not detected anymore. Specifically Sydney but I imaging any state would suffice. Channels 7,9,10 would be ideal. Not fussed abou...

Re: Comskip INI Editor
Hi, The variable type is determined by what it finds in comskip.txt Currently it is set to: ticker_tape=0 (0=off / 1=on) ;Use to set the amount of pixels at the bottom of the screen to completely ignore in processing. ;;Usefull when there is a ticker tape or text at the bottom that never disappears....

Comskip INI Editor
I have created a Comskip INI Editor to simplify editing the comskip.ini file. It uses the information in comskip.txt to display the description of each option and to determine the default value. Simply place the EXE into your comskip folder. Launch the EXE and it will load the comskip.ini file withi...

Re: Disk IO - large disk read buffer layer
I have had ongoing system hangs. I have tried different INI settings but but nothing seems to work. The hangs happen less now but when they do I need to reset the PC to recover. One configuration I didn't try was to start comskip at the start of the recording in MP, I always had it set to trigger at...

Re: Disk IO - large disk read buffer layer
I see. Can we add an ini option to specify the buffer size in the next release? Maybe it is too large for SSD's that read at 500MB/s with super fast access times ... way faster than any HDD which max out at about 150MB/s. Perhaps it needs to be re-tuned for todays SSD performance.

Disk IO - large disk read buffer layer
Does comskip use a file read buffer where it reads the video from the disk in say 64MB chunks into RAM, or does the comskip processor read directly from disk? It would be great if comskip had an extra file read buffer layer in between the comskip processor and the physical disk. I implemented a read...

Re: Limit comskip to 1 process at a time
Latest comskip build? I'll test it tonight.
If still no luck I'll use Comskip monitored

Re: Running comskip at a lower priority?
I have also noticed this. I have a Core i5 Ivy Bridge (decent CPU!) and I get major freezing when playing back a TS file via DirectShow. It would be great if there was an option to force the processing priority down to the lowest setting. It may be an IO related problem (fast SSD) but still, I would...

Limit comskip to 1 process at a time
Is it possible to set an option to limit comskip to one process at any time? I often have three comskips going at once and it freezes the PC for a minute or more. If I have one comskip process, no freezing. 2 processes may cause intermittent freezing. (Win 8.1) I have a 500MB/sec Samsung SSD which m...

Re: play_nice_sleep not working. 95% cpu
Quick update, Comskip is running and using 2-3% CPU, no more lock ups now.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
