Re: CC extraction

YOu can ask comskip to create the srt file. The older comskip can extract the cc on its own I have ccextractor creating a .srt file now, but it doesn't look like Comskip is looking into that file while doing dictionary check? Is this impossible with new versions? Should I just give up on trying to ...

You need to use 0.80.42
Ah, okay... Drat...

The dictionary check still occurs.. what is it looking at when it does that? I thought if I manually created a .srt file using ccextractor before comskip ran that maybe it would look there, but it doesn't appear to..

CC extraction

I'm trying to get comskip to extract CC for use with the comskip.dictionary file. Comskip runs the dictionary, but doesn't seem to run it against anything.. I have output_srt=1, and have the CC check enabled in the options.. I don't see any srt file being created and the ccno file is always empty. I...

Re: Short commercials not being cut...

Does the logo shortly disappear when there is a transition from the preview to the show (or the other way around) and is there a clear cutpoint (black frame) at the same time? It seems these commercials 'might' be a bit longer than the standard commercial.. and there are at least one if not two sta...

Short commercials not being cut...

I've noticed this a lot lately.. many shows I've watched lately have a short commercial advertising another show.. these 'clips' are in HD, just like the show I'm watching, and these 'clips' also show the same logo as the shows I'm watching.. so Comskip thinks they are part of the show I am watching...

Re: Closed Captioning

I have the files in a zipped archive file now and am ready to send it.. it is just under 2 megs.. where would you like it sent?

Interestingly it appears that at least some of the commercials were decoded correctly.. not sure that matters, but it is interesting anyhow!

Closed Captioning

Last night I recorded Fringe on my HDHomerun from the QAM signal from my Cable Company.. Comskip is set to use CC in it's analysis.. upon looking at the log I found that much of the captioning appeared 'chopped up'... I looked at other shows and saw similar things.. oddly, some shows seemed to be pe...

Re: HDHomerun problems

I'm certainly hoping this isn't the case for me as I'm writing to a striped pair of SATA drives on a 3ware hardware RAID card That certainly should not be a problem then! For me it was a bad PCI-USB add-in card that was the problem.. it couldn't handle the data streams and was dropping data. As soo...

Re: HDHomerun problems

I appear to be having the same issue with "Video PTS jumped" errors using my HDHR an comskip. I too am using an amplifier and have a significant number of splits in my cable but the HDHR reports all signal readings at 100%. Is there any chance this is an issue with the HDHR recordings the...

Re: Logos and 'LOST'

I do not know of any way to prevent this from happening. I think this is part of the argument that some have raised about looking for the 'Rating' the almost always is present when a segment of show begins.. I have never seen that rating anywhere except during the show, so it would seem like a good...

Re: Logos and 'LOST'

Could you upload the .csv file of Survivor? I see you have set max_avg_brightness=25 and intelligent_brightness=1 Is this for any particular reason? I thought I'd read that those were better USA specific tunings.. I'll send you the .csv file, then make the adjustments you suggest as far as brightne...

Re: Logos and 'LOST'

May I suggest you change detect_method=255 to detect_method=63 That should solve most of the problems. I tried this and have to report that my detections got much worse! Survivor last night missed probably 2/3 of the of commercials in every break. Survivor was recorded from the HDHomerun, but is no...

Re: Logos and 'LOST'

And the new build of Comskip can decode the XDS data that contains the V-Chip information Could you set output_framearray=1 and output_data=1 and enable the "close caption" method (16) and upload the generated .csv and .data files? Will do! Can you PM me where you want them sent? PS.. I d...

Logos and 'LOST'

Last nights lost was different in the way the logo was or wasn't displayed.. when I ran Comskip I noticed that the first pass seemed to be right on, but before comskip finished it seemed to go back and on that second (?) pass it broke one of the early detections.. So I went back and watched the show...
