Computing best detect method via manually marked channels
I love comskip but wish there was a better way to tune it. It's default settings work great for certain channels but it's off some on other channels and programs. I've tried to tune it's detection settings in the past but it's very time consuming running comskip with a variety of methods and then co...

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
I looked at your .csv files Please set max_volume=50 because you have very good digital reception Ok, I've done that and re-run with skip_b_frames=2 and the results are below. The results seem to be about the same. How will this setting affect my non-digital recordings? And assuming the digital sig...

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
I tested Build 130. Run with skip_b_frames = 2, the results are different than build 129. FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE 106994 FRAMES AT 2997 ------------------- 1 2441 17941 24458 41466 50113 70812 76854 97294 98415 106993 106994 Not sure how much of an improvement it is but they're not bad anyway. I di...

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
I'll try it out after the skip_b_frames tests are done for 129 and let you know how it goes.erik wrote:Tim,

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
Tim, When you set output_framearray=1 and the input filename is input.dvr-ms then comskip generates input.csv. Those are the files I need. When you set output_timing=1 comskip generates input.timing.csv I know its confusing but it is nice you uploaded also the .timing.csv because I most probably wo...

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
Could you send me a .csv file generated when output_framearray=1 is set? Together with a .txt file with the frame numbers of the commercials as you would them to be. Send both the .csv files generated with and without skipping frames. Done... uploaded the results. If there's anything else you need,...

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
One last comment. Comskip is actually missing a commercial break in this file, both the old and new versions, skip_b_frames on or off. There should be one right around the 25000 frame mark that it's missing completely.

Re: DVR-MS preview starting to work
[quote="erik"]The new build 128 (donators only for the moment) has an experimental implementation of dvr-ms preview. The frame position is upto 10 frames wrong and it does not work on all dvr-ms files. If you find a dvr-ms recording that fails to preview I would like to receive the first 5...

Oh, if you'd like the timing.csv files and logs from each run, let me know. I've saved them in case you were interested.

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
The 129 build is a definite and huge improvement. You don't get the same results with the skip_b_frames option turned on, but I guess that's to be expected given that it's skipping frames, right? On my system it runs in about 1/3 of the time, so I think it's a worthwhile trade-off. skip_b_frames = 2...

Ah, ok... thanks for the update. If you need more samples for testing, let me know. I'd be happy to provide other samples from other recordings too.
Thanks again!

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
Do you feel this problem is corrected now in the 129 release, Erik? I won't get a chance to download it and test it until later this evening or tomorrow, but that doesn't keep me from being curious now.

Re: Trouble with skip_b_frames option
FYI, the upload failed at a little over 800 meg with the following error: Netout :Software caused connection abort Never saw that before so I don't know what it means. However, it appears to have kept the partial file on the server, so hopefully that's enough. If you want more, just let me know. Tha...

Bad luck, I can not reproduce the problems with the files you uploaded. It could be the problem appears in the next 100 MByte Could you upload a "as long as possible" fragment? Certain ftp clients will let you upload and when canceled will leave whatever is uploaded on the server. Do you ...
