hmmm....not sure how to give you the information. I know this is part of the process BeyondTV performs. It is the first thing to happen after a show is recorded. Then the CustomPostProcessing.xml takes over (if used) then SmartChapter (crappy commerical detection) then StreamSnip, then ShowSqueeze. ...

erik, Thank you for your response. I had seen from the documentation that you could use a PID argument and I remember seeing on some forum on how to get a list of the PIDs in a file by purposely passing an incorrect PID to comskip and getting a listing. I am aware there is an auto-select feature (ne...

PID Selection

erik, I am having trouble with PID selection. Most of the digital OTA stations in my US area have subchannels. If I record a station on a sub-channel, comskip is selecting the first sub-channel. I using comskip in conjunction with BTV 4.6. On channels where there is only one channel or I have record...

erik,
Did you get a look at the Star Trek portion I uploaded per your request?
Also, I d/led the 79.39 from your Web site, but the file dates were the same as 79.38.
Do you think you will be able to solve the AC3 formats issue?

How was your trip?

Best regards,
Greg

The file was an HDTV broadcast recorded to a mpg file. A one hour file was 6.4GB in size. Star Trek - Enterprise.mpg Verbose is at 10. I'm not sure about the volume detection. Here looks to be the relevant section. I will mail you the log file. First Frame Frame: 1 MinY: 10 MaxY: 710 Ratio: 1.83 Res...

Comskip and demux

Erik,

I ran comskip with the output_cuttermaran=1 and output_demux=1 set.
I only received the m2v file. The mp2 file was not created.
Did I overlook a setting?

Thanks,
Greg

Comskip and mencoder

erik, Well....it looked like the 79.30 version of comskip was working with the mencoder effort by stattik. However, tonight I recorded Star Trek: Enterprise the same as I did last week. Last week, recording of Start Trek: Enterprise, commercial detection and mencoder cutting did great. Tonight the r...

First thing to know is what you will do with the recordings. Playback or archive If you intend to playback you do not need to actually remove the commercials. You need a player that can skip the commercials based on the info generated by comskip. If you want to archive without commercials than its m...

Comclean processes

erik, I am still hammering away at trying to get a file w/o commercials. Running comskip 7928 and 7929b2 and setting the comskip.ini output_<app>=1 for the correct app. I get the correct files it appears for mpgtx, mencoder and mpeg2schnitt. I set mpgtx - I get a file but no audio in it. mencoder - ...

erik, Thank you for your reply. Yes, I neglected to include that it is in fact ATSC for digital and NTSC for analog. I did check for AC3 using the FusionHDTV5 USB Gold application. It usually just shows DDCH2 or DD51. I have seen it start off as if it is AC3 then switch to DDCH2 or DD51. I think the...

Need Handholding to get this to work

erik, Thank you very much for your efforts in helping me both here and other forums. It just ain't working for me. I am in the US recording HDTV OTA with my FusionHDTV 5 USB Gold tuner. I am using GBPVR (trying to) 96.12. I am using: COMSKIP 79_28 I have tried using comclean, comclean2, comclean3 an...

How do I check for AC3 content? I think the answer is yes, but I would probably need to check to make sure. How do I do this?
I can upload a fragment, but how to I only obtain/copy a fragment?

Regards,
Greg

Comskip and mencoder

Hello, I am using comskip79_28 and mencoder for commercial detection and cutting. I have a Fusion HDTV5 USB Gold The comskip part appears to run ok, but the mencoder portion gives me the following errors. The original file plays fine. What do I do? G:\My Videos>"G:\My Videos\mencoder.exe" ...
