Build 88
New example: In this one, there is only one flawed cut point. 193848 should occur at 194118. 193848 is between 4:3 pillarboxed commercials. 194118 is in the middle of a long blackframe sequence, preceded by 4:3 and succeeded by 16:9 material. The only problem I see with detection is that the Logo do...
build 88
Okay. On this video, build 88 was better on some segments and worse on others. Now correctly identified first cut point at 2955. No help at 7848 (Logo in the black problem) 26694 - good start of commercial block. More 'centered' in the black. 28102 - cut between commercials. ~65 seconds prior to end...

Erik, I think I found one of the ~three frames from the VideoRedo discrepancy. First, I manually calculated the cut points for a file using this formula mentioned above. Original .txt: FILE PROCESSING COMPLETE 55273 FRAMES AT 2997 ------------------- 23690 28892 35706 42317 48280 51441 55272 55273 O...
The log files don't look right. I'm not sure what happened, so I'm uploading a new *.zip file right now. I understand that there may be no solution to the logo problem. What I don't understand is why Comskip is choosing those cut points that are in the program. If there is no black frame and the AR ...
For some unknown reason the black frames at 2946, 7819, 30065, 47567 are not recognised. Is it possible that the logo is also shown during the black frame separating show and commercial? I think you've identified the exact problem. 2946 - Logo still present (and detected) but is otherwise black fra...
Build 87
Build 87 didn't help on some problem programs. I've uploaded log files to "ftp://athome.kaashoek.com/Kerry/b87/Rules of Engagement-(Jeff's Wooby)-2007-03-19-0.b87.zip" . Here are some comments about what I'm seeing. 3040 Late into commercial. Letterboxed. 7848 Late into program. Fade in sc...

Frame 141454 is at the end of block 35. The reason for a cut is indicated by a lower case letter under the heading 'cut'. In this case its a 'a' indicating the aspect ratio changed. aspect ratio changes again at frame 141535. And then at frame 141930 there is the black frame cut indicated by letter...

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I had tried that setting, but apparently not. I believe there is one discrepancy that needs to be accounted for. Comskip starts counting frames from frame #1. VideoRedo starts counting frames from frame #0. The Comskip-generated *.vprj file currently matches t...

I would like to endorse this idea of using the ratings logo to aid in detection. I am getting some erroneous cut points because the network logo is absent. The ratings logo ALWAYS comes up right after each commercial break. Awhile later, the network logo usually appears. Occasionally, the network lo...

Caching the *.ini vs VideoRedo Offset?
Does Comskip cache the *.ini settings? It appears to be doing that. I removed the videoredo_offset setting from my *.ini, but it keeps showing up in the *.log file as well as the results. I have quadruple checked the setting in the *.ini file and confirmed the *.ini that the *.log file says is being...

Why is there no black frame detected around frame 19968? Is there something non-black visible? There is actually a very long black frame sequence without sound that extends from VRD frame 19935 through 20012. However, after more careful examination, the network logo never disappears during that seg...

Just when I think the settings are perfect, I hit another clunker. This one is not even close again. Several cut points are way off. The log files are at ftp://tester@athome.kaashoek.com/Kerry/b85/Rules of Engagement-(Hard Day's Night)-2007-03-12-0.B.zip . Any thoughts on what is wrong with this epi...
