mencoder edl file generated by comskip

Post by erik »

Comskip can now generate the edl file used by mencoder.
set
output_edl=1
in the ini file

For the moment only the .txt file is updated when you use comskip to review the .txt file, this is going to change soon.

It has changed,
The 78beta will write all output files after editing.

Hi Erik.

Great work!

I'm testing it out at the moment. Looking good.

One very minor thing I've noticed... if you run comskip with the .txt file and don't make any changes, the other output files will be empty after quitting. If you 'w'rite the .txt file then they're fine. Hope this makes sense. :)

Will post back when I've played some more.

Great work on this product. One bug in the edl file I've found though:

I'm trying to use the edl file with a 29.97 framerate mpeg. However, the edl file (which I assume is calculated from the .txt file : frames / fps) uses 25 fps for the calculation. Can you fix this for the next release?

Thanks

That is very weird......
The calculation is done by using the fps.
Could you send me the .log file generated with verbose=10, the .txt file and the .edl file?

To close this topic for others who may be referring to it, the problem resulted from a bad mpeg file and not comskip. I had the same problem with MPEG's generated from mencoder and ffmpeg. The MPEG's themselves were useless and could not be played or analyzed properly.
