I have a problem that I am pretty sure that has been addressed already and would hope that someone could give me a couple settings to try for eliminating commercials for shows on these channels.

Currently, Comskip has major problems with any of the shows on the channel, it skips around and can't understand why it goes off track so much.

There is a ticker during the show that goes away during commercial. I would have figured this is a lot easier to find segments because it is a clear break.

What should I try?

I don't understand all of the tunable parameters but I think that these shows should be very easy for comskip to get because there is always a very distinct logo on the screen until just before commercial.

How am I supposed to get the start and end frame numbers of the commercial breaks? VLC?

comskip
drag and drop the recording on comskipGUI.exe (inside the distribution zip file)
a black and white video window will appear playing the video at high speed
wait till comskip is finished
Hit F1 to get some help on what key's you can use
You can also click with the mouse on the timeline at the top of the window
In comskipGUI you can now quickly navigate through the recording.
Open the debugwindow.htm file in the distribution zip file for additional help

The GUI force closes in Windows 7 x64 with "Entry Point Not Found"

Do I have to do a regsvr?

What if I put the video up for you to download. I have tried older comskips and they don't seem to work either. I try to advance it frame by frame with the arrow key and it won't advance past a certain point.

I don't presume this will be that difficult. It has a very easy logo to find and it's there for most shows, from start to finish.

The biggest problem that I've seen is the ad for "My Pillow" being so long that it tries to count it as a show.

For a long ad you can set
min_show_segment_length=300
or even higher

With such a big logo you better set
logo_max_percentage_of_screen=0.3
otherwise comskip will not find the logo

After a scan and remove, it still ends up to be about 52mins. Should be 43 at the most.

I will check it to figure out where it went wrong.
