either comskip or dvrms toolbox is beeping... !Memory Leak!

I'm going to try using an older version of comskip when I get home, but:
My HTPC works fine until I install dvrms toolbox and comskip. Once "I" start scanning, at first, it appears that the beep accompanies the finishing of a scan and creation of the skip file. Later it starts to beep more and more often, until I disable dvrms from searching my recording drive. Looks more and more like it's DVRMS toolbox, doesn't it.
any help would be appreciated.
I've never seen a memory leak before. Comskip gets up to 100MB or so and my computer starts howling.
What can I do?
