I got an idea that I would like to share.
To get comskip recognize commercial (as it is today) you have to spend alot of your time configuring .ini files for a couple of channels to get it detect commercial correctly.
But how about reverse the process and let the user specify where the commercials start and ends and then let "another" comskip application (comdetect) to configure the .ini file?
Example!
The timeline look like this:
----|--------------------|----------|-------------------------------|-----
where "|" is user choosen commercial start/end.
We suppose we have a application, comdetect, that analyzes the file and the points which the user specified. Comdetect then tries to find differences on the user choosen start/ends and makes a ini for comskip that works for the video file.
Suppose that comdetect detects a aspect ratio -change on all the points that the user specified. Comdetect would then make a ini file that is using the detect_method=aspect_ratio.
This was a very basic example and I bet it would be possible to make it more advance.
That was the example, if you didn't get it, please say so and Ill try to make a better example
Dont know how tricky this is to complete but as I said, its an idea.
Please post feedback on this

Reverse application of commercial detection
Re: Reverse application of commercial detection
Too late then..
Is it still to many tuning options to complete such a thing?

Re: Reverse application of commercial detection
Well.
If you find tuning Comskip too complex there is a simpler solution.
