Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Is there a version of Comskip for EyeTV for the Mac that will work with files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Not from me.
Many people use the windows environment to run comskip h.264 on MAC

Thanks for the reply Erik. I've been going through the EyeTV forums and found a post where someone seems to have it working on a Mac with a donator beta version.

Is there another source that you know of that can help me figure this out?

Indeed the donator version should be able to run on MAC in the right emulation environment.
You can test first with the regular comskip version as the requirements for both are the same.

Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
I do have Windows on my Mac, how would the workflow work?
Record in EyeTV on the Mac partition or the Windows partition?
Can I point Comskip to work on files in a directory on the Mac partition?
I don't understand coding, so if that is involved, I may be in over my head. Has anyone outlined the process?
Thanks again.

No coding should be required. Can you access files from the mac partition from windows programs running under the windows emulator? Its NOT a dual boot setup.
Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Yes, I can.
Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Then you can run comskip under windows to process the recording on the mac partition.
I remember someone describing this, google, or look here

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed.
Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
I am re-using this thread, since the title is what I need to ask.
I am using the latest donator version comskip 0.80.039 on Windows Vista 32 bit. It is working OK with mpeg2 content, but it does not work in my case for h.264 HD recordings (coming from TV Vlaanderen). I have not changed the default ini file and have installed the latest version in a clean folder.
When I run comskipgui, the video window never pops up (with mpeg2 it does) and the tool ends with the following info:
MPEG2 sound at 48 khz
Audio PTS jumped 2 frames at frame 1, repairing timeline
Audio PTS jumped 1 frames at frame 59859, repairing timeline
Parsed 0 video frames and 74834 audio frames of 25.00 fps
Maximum Volume found is 8980
0 frames decoded in 0.00 seconds (0.00 fps)
The video file is OK when I play it...
Do I need to use any special arguments for h.264? Thanks
Johan

Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
Can you upload a small recording to my FTP server?
Will PM you with the upload details.

Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
The current version of Comskip can NOT decode h.264 from .mpg files (PS format)
Would it be possible to record in .ts (transport stream) format?

Re: Comskip for files recorded in H.264 MPEG4?
I am using SageTV version 7, and I am afraid you cannot influence that part. I assume it is not an easy thing to support from your side? Thanks for the fast support!

I'm considering to go to a new demux but that will be a MAJOR change requiring a LOT of work.
