Here you can ask your questions on how to use Comskip for the detection of commercials. Also questions on how to remove commercials are welcome

bikesquid wrote:my batch file works with the above, you need the /p argument as it says in the error....
ex: cscript //nologo "C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoReDoTVSuite4\vp.vbs" "%FILEIN%" "%FILEOUT%" "/p:H.264 Transport Stream" /q /e
Thanks that helped for HD stuff, but comskip also needs to add

Code: Select all

<MPEG Stream Type>2
So it can work with SD material

Thanks

A couple things I found:
a comskip forum thread that seems to explain the need... in simple terms type 2 SD type 4 HD

viewtopic.php?f=4&t=821

also seems that the format for AudioStreamPID has changed, see below:
http://www.videoredo.net/msgBoard/archi ... 28774.html

"You need to change <AudioStreamPID> to <AudioStreamPID_0>, this was changed when we added multi audio support."

This issue seems to have 'fallen-off' the fixes...
don't know if this is helpful...

from the change log:
Changes in 0.80.030
- Changed the generated .vprj file to include "<MPEG Stream Type>4" in case of h.264 video

That explains.

HD can be h.264 or MPEG.
So I assume type 4 is h.264

I've confirmed that by running the new version and adding the referenced 3rd line

<MPEG Stream Type>4

to the .VPrj, in my case of h.264 format files, works like a charm... any chance of a quick patched version?

tested. Works great, faster than before it seems too.... and VPrj files are opening without error for the h.264.
Thx.

I was having this same problem, found this thread, so I donated to get the new version. But for my high definition MPEG2 files, Comskip 0.81.018 doesn't put the "<MPEG Stream Type>2" line in the Videoredo file. Does it only output the line with "4" for h.264 files? Videoredo TVSuite with the h.264 support seems to require it for both file types.

Thanks.

When do I need to put stream type 2?

When I load an MPEG2 file into Videoredo and create a project file, it lists the MPEG stream type as 2, so it would seem that it should put 2 if it is MPEG2 video.

However, I am unable to test this, because sometime after I posted my message, I must have made some unknown change in my VRD settings, because now it is loading projects without the "MPEG Stream Type" line.

So I guess I should say, sorry for bothering you. If I know any more (such as I change back whatever setting I changed that fixed this for me), I'll let you know.

Thanks.
