Live detection ends too early, no crash, no commercials.

Here you can ask your questions on how to use Comskip for the detection of commercials. Also questions on how to remove commercials are welcome

Live detection ends too early, no crash, no commercials.

Post by fz1 »

When processed against an .mpg that's still recording Comskip won't crash but think's it's finished when it reaches the end. The output from 2 shows has completed uploading to the ftp.

Many errors show in red in the program window like "truncating packet of size x to y" but they move to fast to read. They also mention "damage". This occurs with every show I record, from either my NVidia DualTV (analog source) or my HDHR (digital source).

Would it help if I could capture the red error messages somehow?

Live detection while recording is not working for .mpg or .ts recordings, only for .wtv

Oh, i didnt see your answer. Thanks Erik, that was good news :D
Hmm...im not even sure on how live detection works or how to set it up. You see im using the DVBViewer system, which has no comskip compatibility at all. The biggest drawback with DVBViewer. So, im afraid im of no use testing .ts live detection.

I'm using SageTV with both HDHR's and a HD-PVR. I would be happy to test live detection.

Bummer  I just became a donator to get the latest version for multi-core support to find out that I am losing a feature I have used for years with GBPVR/NPVR. Oh well, still a great product anyway, I just hope this comes back soon.

Hi Erik!

I would gladly like to help out testing the .ts and .mpg LiveTV detection. After forum investigations I now know how it could be done with my PVR of choice (DVBViewer/RS). Cant believe I didnt read up on this thing before  Let me know when you are ready with a test version or perhaps there is already such a thing?

Regards

Thanks for the offer. Will gladly make use of it when needed.
For the moment I need to get this first working on my own test setup.
