Comskip Setup for Dummies?

Sorry to be such a noob...

Does anyone have a complete "walk through" from install of DVRMSToolbox1225 to the install and setup of the paid version of Comskip.

I found one for ShowAnalyzer bot not for Comskip. The ShowAnalyzer setup used setting in ShowAnalyzer to monitor recoded TV--- not DVRMSToolbox, so i am not sure how to manage it. I also want to make sure I need to install DTBAddin1007-R3.

I do not want to start the process and stumble up on some DVRMSToolbox1225 or DTBAddin1007-R3 setting.

Also... Can someone confirm that these are the most recent versions

DTBAddin1007-R3

I have a Ceton tuner, running Windows Media Center 7--- currently working fine. I'd like to keep it that way.

I followed this guide and ignored the ShowAnalyzer installation section.

Install the comskip files in C:\Program Files (x86)\DVRMSToolbox\Applications
Verify the comskip.ini file contains output_dvrmstb=1

These are my settings in DVRMS Toolbox: viewtopic.php?p=6019#p6019
This configuration will start comskip when the show is complete. This has been very stable on my system.


I'm still testing live detection, which will sometimes crash, but not often, even when setting a 10 minute delay.
Set the following in the comskip.ini to run comskip during live TV.
live_tv=1
thread_count=1

Set the "Wait Time" to 0 in the File Watcher tab of DVRMS Toolbox.

Delay the start of comskip by setting the sleep parameter as described here.
