I've been running Comskip daily for several years now but haven't been updating comskip.exe.
The version I'm running is possibly 81_037. It was a donater version at the time and the file is dated 20th May 2012 with a size of 8657KB.
I have different .ini files for each TV channel and would like to preserve all settings so my daily processing routine stays the same.
Can I just copy the latest 81_061 versions of comskip.exe and comskipGUI.exe over the old files and everything will work the same?
How to upgrade an old version of Comskip?
Re: How to upgrade an old version of Comskip?
Short answer: yes
Longer answer:
The general rule is not to fix anything if it aint broken.
But you can save the old comskip executables and copy the new executables to desired location.
Don't change the ini files.
Give it a try.
If you process during recording then ensure comskip is started 10 minutes after the recording has started

Thanks Erik, I'll give it a try and see what happens. Will keep the old files just in case. I'm pretty good at breaking things.
