non-donator vs. donator version of Comskip

I am in the USA and use an HD HomeRun EXTEND device to receive OTA SD and HD channels. I believe its output is H.264 routed by Ethernet to my PC. I use Windows Media Center to record which creates a .wtv file. Then I use the donator version of MCEBuddy and non-donator (default) version of Comskip to strip commercials and output an MP4 file to a portable HDD which my Blu-ray player can then read via its USB port and playback to my TV. Is this the most efficient method for doing this without additional hardware? This is my first foray into this business. Thanks!

I would recommend not to remove the commercials from the recording but to look for a video player that can skip over the commercials based on the info from Comskip.
