So I just recently got the donation version and wanted to start using h.264 since I have HDHR Extends.
I'm seeing an odd issue. With the free one and mpeg everything worked fine.
With the donation version and me using h.264 I am noticing some of my recordings don't get processed.
It makes a .txt file in all of them but seems to randomly only process.
I can see the process start for a few seconds and it just vanishes.
I played around for a bit and can pick a show that's on, start a recording, see the process spin up and vanish. What's odd though I can cancel the recording, delete it and do it again and every so often it does start and keep running and work.
Am I doing something wrong or missing something?
I'm using the same config file that worked before the donation version.
Using NextPVR fwiw too.
Thanks!
Parallell processing not consistant with donation/h.264?
Re: Parallell processing not consistant with donation/h.264?
For some .h264 recordings comskip fails if started during the recording.
YOu can test if this is the cause by dragging and dropping a complete recording on comskipGUI.exe
If comskip processes the entire file you have found the cause
Make sure to start comskip after the recording is finished

Re: Parallell processing not consistant with donation/h.264?
The ones that don't process during recording will if I run at the end. Sometimes they will process during the recording if I start and stop the recording a few times too.
Because of this I'd have to assume it has the ability to do it and is some sort of odd bug maybe?

Re: Parallell processing not consistant with donation/h.264?
The .h264 container format is difficult to read. If comskip starts processing to early after starting the recording it may work
Tray to wait 5 to 10 minutes after recording starts before starting comskip
