Standoff vs Standoff_size?

Both of these settings seem to be quite similar to me. Does anyone know the difference between them?

standoff_size - size in kByte to stay away from the end of the file when processing during recording

standoff - The amount of kBytes to stop reading before the end of the file.

None of the standoff parameters are used anymore.
I updated the comskip.txt file for the next release to reflect this.

Why are the standoff settings not used any longer? Is Comskip better at handling things like this automatically now?

The original implementation failed in many ways, the current approach does not need it anymore.
The current approach is not perfect but much less complex, both to implement and less depended on complex parameters
