903 - seems a lot slower ?

Here you can ask your questions on how to use Comskip for the detection of commercials. Also questions on how to remove commercials are welcome

903 - seems a lot slower ?

Post by marvin-miller »

Hi Erik!

Thanks for the new release!

I installed it the other day and it seems to be much slower

With the last version I would see +/- 98% processor usage. With this one it's something less then 25% when processing. It's processing H.264 .WTV files from my DVR. I tried settings the amount of cores to use higher (I think I was using 6 on my 4-core with the previous version) but nothing I seem to do affects the processor usage as viewed by task manager when processing.

It's no big deal, just thought I would mention it in case you haven't had much feedback on this version yet.

I'm having problems with getting all cores active while decoding h.264
Hope to solve this in the future

Sounds good - although it was much faster in the previous release so it seems that something changed. It's not the end of the world - thanks for the new release!

Can you check if build 0.81.095 is again faster?

With threadcount set to 6 on my quad core processor it hits about 75% processor usage on all cores. This is the same as it did with the older versions so I would say it's fixed

Just released build 0.81.096
I re-enabled some tweaks that where accidentally disabled from 093 onwards.
Speed should now be back to normal
