Mplayer uses edl with other time stamps

Post by Dimsok »

I have MPlayer Redxii-SVN-r37905-4.9.3, and i try to watch recording with edl, made by comskip.
As it said in mplayer doc, i use it with -edl key, but it not make skipping anything.
So i did try to run mplayer with -edlout key, and to make edl file with player by pressing "i". After comparision, i found out that edl, was maded by it has different time stamps from that was made by comskip. In edl was made by mplayer for example "67281.171875 67292.734375 0", in edl by comskip "120.80 160.72 0" With first edl mplayer skip parts of video normal, so is there any resolving?

edl specifies time in seconds.
mplayer wants the input in seconds.
Should work

Do remember that when you have a broken timeline in your recording anything can happen

Hm, have found the same issue:
https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.p ... owAnalyzer

I did try about 10 versions of mplayer on windows and none of them accept edl of comskip. In command line shown as mplayer take edl, but video not skip. Is there anyone on windows to confirm it?

Maybe you should try out Kodi instead, which should support .edl.

Hm. seems like it's problem ts+mts with mplayer. With other format edl works normal I watched timing in mplayer, and it's show something like 20 hours etc. For all files recording by dvb-s card and dvb-t reciever. With avi, mp4, miv etc timing is normal.

I don't want try xmbc and other media centres. I just want to use light and fast video player. The better way for me now to cut with smart cutter, which supports edl.

Hm, it seems like -edl-start-pts parameter solve the problem.
