Add a second to the beginning or end of commercials not both

How do I ask Comskip to add one more second to the beginning of the detected commercials?
I am getting remments of commercials after processing. I have tried the padding=1 command and this adds a second to both the front and back ends of detected commercials.
How do I say: When Comskip detects a commercial, mark the beginning of the commercial one second earlier than when you would normally mark it.
I do not want to change the ending mark of the commercial. But for completeness of this post as an aid to others with this need, how would I add a second to the end of the commercials without adding a second to the beginning of the commercials using the padding=1 parameter?
I am using MCEBuddy/Comskip to process the commercial removal.
