Post subject:  Why is comskip-gui running in background?

I'm using comskip via post processing command in tvheadend on Ubuntu Server. I've been very pleased with the results, but have been playing with my ini to lighten the load a bit. In the process I've noticed that comskip-gui shows in my process list rather than comskip as I would have expected.

My post process command:
Code:
comskip --ini=/etc/comskip/comskip.ini "%f"

Is this normal behavior? I have threads set to 2 in ini and I can't see anything in the settings that would trigger comskip-gui as the default mode.

Code:
9166 hts       20   0  620712 177088  20136 S  24.6  4.7   4:29.97 comskip-gui
9080 hts       20   0  618364 104568  19184 S  16.9  2.8   9:08.84 comskip-gui
9173 hts       20   0  617696  98288  19420 S  15.3  2.6   2:47.56 comskip-gui

Comskipgui does NOT terminate at the end of processing. It will stay active as it expects the user to navigate the UI.
So better NOT run Comskipgui in the background, do use the comskip executable for background processing

That is my point. Please see my post. The command is for COMSKIP, yet somehow comskip-gui is executed instead. How is this possible?

Edit: Edit thread title for clarity.

Post subject:  Re: Why is comskip-gui running in background?

Ah,

I have no clue. Did you kill all of the comskipgui processes, invoke comskip and checked if comskipgui is back?
There is a setting in the ini file to tell comskip to act as comskipgui (but it should not change the name of the executable), did you check if that flag is set?

Any idea what the ini directive is? I don't see anything in there that hints at gui.

OK, very odd. I made sure there were no comskip processes running, used the same tvh post command from a terminal and the process shows up as "comskip" so, somehow when tvh invokes the command it is expanding to "comskip-gui"

Bizarre.

Its
output_debugwindow=0
and value 0 implies its currently disabled
