comskip82_009_donators api-ms-win-core-synch-ansi-l1-1-0.dll

Post by guho »

I just downloaded the latest comskip82_009_donators and attempted to run it on Windows 8.1 x64 Pro.

The error message is that it cannot load api-ms-win-core-synch-ansi-l1-1-0.dll. I think I have all redistributables known to man on this machine including the one mentioned in the readme.

When you prepare new versions, could you please ensure they run on Windows 7, 8.1 and 10? The readme of 82.008 mentions windows 7 but unfortunately no mention of 8.1.

Same problem here :(

Edit:
Version 82_003 works.
82_007 and 82_009 don't.

This continues to be an issue for Windows 7 users. Anyone ever find a way to fix the error?

The problem is in a combination of static linking an dynamic linking with conflicting references. This can not be solved by a user. I have to wait till the toolchain I use is fixed.

What did plex do differently when they compiled it since they are on 82.005? I also note the filesize of the exe is 1mb vs around 15mb here so I assume some things are dynamically linked vs static? (and it works fine for win 7)

I AM a donator but I copied their exe over to my comskip dir and renamed it after saving my original which was 82.003. comskip -h works fine. I did note it mentions something about using ffmpeg.

I do not know.
They may use shared libraries instead of static linkage
The tool chain problem started with build 007.

Can you pleae produce a new build of the latest comskip donators edition which works on Windows 7 and 8.1, not just Windows 10?

You can use comskip in a docker container
Pre-build versions are available from here:
