Hi Erik, its been a while! Ive been trying your latest H264 version with recordings over here in NZ. I'm using Vista and Mediaportal to generate .ts recordings. I have log files with the following error

Unsopported AAC format, sf_index > 11

Unsopported AAC format, sf_index > 11

Unsopported AAC format, sf_index > 11

Unsopported AAC format, sf_index > 11

Unsopported AAC format, s

etc, etc.

The channel in this instance has both AAC and AC3 formats for its audio, other channels here only have AAC. My commercial detection rate is fairly poor and i suspect that it has something to do with the audio detection.

If you need more info please let me know

thanks

Do you only get this error message on the channel with bot AAC and AC3?
Or also on the channels with only AAC?

Thanks for your reply Erik, yes this is the only channel reporting this error, would you like a sample?

Yes, but is the comskip result ok?
Transmission errors can result in AAC errors but in general this should not cause problems.
Only when you run comskipGUI and see that there is no audio decoding (the green line, second from the bottom stays flat) I need to do something.

Hi Erik, the result is not ok, so poor as to be unuseable. When using the GUI the green line is flat, and in the top left of the debug window it shows V=-1S continually indicating no volume analysis (i believe)

I am today running in accordance with your tuning webpage article and i'll upload the file that i tested. Also i'll upload all logs etc, so far i can see numerous and repeated errors related to audio - faac: frame decoding failed . . .

I'll upload the results by the end of today

Thanks for looking into this

Hi Eric, i'm uploading the ts file to your server in a new subfolder that i made yesterday, its called 1.ts.

I tried the tuning and had better results last night, however i still get a .log file created which shows aac errors. Is there any way to prevent a log file from being created as it is annoying to have to manually clear them out. (i already have delete_logo_file=0 and verbose=0)

I hope this uploaded file helps

thanx

I do not see a .ts file.
Where did you upload it?

Now I can see the two .ts files and indeed no audio decoded.
This helps.
