comskip 80.006 crash on H.264 / AAC. Have video clip

Post by himself »

I get periodic crashes with some shows that are being recorded off my hd-pvr. I can't seem to find a pattern, either. Sometimes its 1080i shows that fail, somtimes 720p.

I did however, manage to snag a small piece of the dirty jobs episode this week that is consistently causing crashes. I've cut out a 30 second piece around where it crashes. It's 40mb. If you can give me a place to upload it, I'd be happy to!

I'm having similar problems with H264/AC3 recordings from my HD PVR using SageTV (not that I think that matters at all). They're about 5mbps recordings and comskip does not seem to like them at all. I can try to cut out a piece and upload it if you'd like.

If you want to do so please do (will send you the ftp details)
I already have some examples that fail, and its very difficult to solve them as its basically the h.264 decoder crashing. But I will not give up for the moment so be patient.

Does comskip use it's own decoder, or is it using directshow?

I uploaded my clip for you. Took longer than I had hoped to get it up there. But it will definitely cause a crash for you. :)

Uh, woops! I didn't notice that a new build was put up there before I uploaded the clip. I'm running the new build against it now and it seems to be working so far. Thanks!!
