Follow the yellow brick road

Post by Swede »

How can I make sure that comskip cuts where the yellow graph dips?

Most wanted feature: It would really be nice with a possability to adjust ini settings in the gui, with sliders or something, and directly see the difference.

Setting
before_logo=0
to a value X other then 0 will cause a cutpoint at a silence point maximum X seconds before the logo appears

Setting
after_logo=0
to a value X other then 0 will cause a cutpoint at a silence point maximum X seconds after the logo disappears

Thanks for the answer, but what I need to know is which ini settings would cut where the logo dissapears. The yellow line dips at the perfect point, but I cannot get comskip to cut at that point.
Which ini settings are connected to the yellow and green line?

The yellow line is the presence of logo
The green line is the volume of the sound
When the green line becomes white there is silence

I don't understand this. I have:
Start logo cblock 5 frame 14650
End logo cblock 5 frame 17800 Length - 0:02:06.00

which would be a perfect cutpoint but later this happens:
Frame 18575 - Cutpoint added 31 seconds after Logo disappears at change percentage of 67
and moves the cutpoint into the commercial 31 seconds. WHY? I want it to cut where the logo disappears!

The logic is that it cuts at the silence, not simply where the logo (dis)appears.
So maybe you may request me a new method for cutpoint generation that ignores the silence and does a hard cut at the (dis)appearal of the logo

OH YES! That would be great!

AND... a way to choose a corner for the logo search would also be usable. They often show logos in the commercials, but then they are in other places than the real logo. They can still be in the top half of the picture, so "Ticker_tape=" and "Subtitles=" don't help. There need to be a "Right_side=" and "Left_side=" too

I have the same issue. Here's my graph: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fe0vn4tn300i0 ... 183717.jpg

I want to cut at exactly where the yellow graph drops. My commercials are right there. What setting should I tune?

thanks

Thanks royfra

Comskip fails to correctly decode audio of your recording and that makes the result worse
Can you send me (via dropbox?) a recording so I can see what is wrong?

Hello Erik,

Dropbox sent me an email saying that my public link has generated to much traffic and they shut it down.

Have you been able to grab the link while it was working? Otherwise, I can send you another in private message

I have been able to download and can reproduce the incorrect audio decode.
Will try to find the cause somewhere next week

Can you test with

shrink_logo=0
detect_method=111
validate_silence=0
