Comskip causing GBPVR to lock up causing reboot

Post by Divinehammer »

Basically the problem is that with comskip running after or during a program. If there are two shows back to back itcauses the machine to hang and requires a reboot. More info here

There are many people running comskip on back-to-back recordings with GBPVR, including myself.
Are your sure there is no overheating of the CPU?
Or possibly memory problems when you are using more of the memory?
You can test by running multiple comskips.
Drag and drop a couple of .mpg files on comskip.exe.
This will start the execution of multiple comskips.
Continue untill most of your main memory is filled.
Let me know what happens.

Hi erik.

This is more a Q on expected behaviour when drag/dropping multiple mpg's SIMULTANEOUSLY on comskip than any GBPVR problems.

I tried 4#, while GBPVR was recording and it took a high CPU load for a while BUT it didn't make the comskip txt files. No crashes though. Should it work with >1 .mpg or is that too much to ask for of a PIII 1.2Ghz with 512MB Ram?

[EDIT}I tried 1, 2, 3, 4 after each other and the 4 windows are running now... hopefully they will finish OK.

I do run 2 comskips paralell on a 800MHz Celeron.
But you can drag and drop only ONE mpeg at a time on comskip.
