Sometimes it aborts after this and sometimes it gets to the end and creates the .edl file.

Any reason for this?

Thanks,

These error come from the h.264 decoder.
The error recovery is failing for some reason.
Is it having problems on many recordings?

All of the recordings from the HD-pvr... I changed the volume slip setting (I think that is what it's called) to 150, but no affect.

Is this a known issue?

Matt

Is has nothing to do with the volume slip.
Its the video decoder failing. Many people use the HD-PVR. but maybe you are running into a particular broadcast style.
Is it on all channels like this?

The file you uploaded gets processed till the end.
DO you have a short sample that causes comskip to crash?

I'm seeing a similar issue... Right now All I have are 30 min recording which are a bit large... I'll see if I can reproduce the issue with a shorter video.

The errors mentioned are from the first part of the recording that does not contain a complete h.264 frame. The error recovery of the decoder notices the errors in the bytestream and recovers. Once the complete file is processed the input file is rewind to the start and the decoder also restarts at the start of the file. That is why you see the errors at the end of the processing while it is actually at the start of the recording.

As long as comskip does not crash you can safely ignore these errors
