Logfile summary explanation.

Post by BrianGGG » Mon Feb 26, 2018 4:00 am

Hello. ComSkip is suddenly making some questionable commercial placement decisions for me. I haven't changed much or anything as far as ComSkip code or parameters.
I'm hoping to debug via the LogFile, but it's pretty clear that I don't know what I am doing.

I did see something similar to the following excerpt below at the bottom of my logfile. I think if I understood it, I'd be able to understand why some things are going wrong.
I'm particularly interested in the "Cut" column as I think that it's may give me some clues about what is going on.

Can someone give me a quick explanation of what is being shown here?

thanks
BrianGGG

Are you able to run comskipGUI.exe?
This will provide you with much more insight as it will allow you to drill down to where and why the cutpoints are generated and look at the scoring of each candidate blok

I am able to run comskipGUI successfully. I have pasted a link to a screenshot below.

I have been trying to follow the documentation for the GUI, but I have some fundamental questions:

The size of the window appears to be fixed (and smaller than I would like). Is it possible to set the dimensions of the window or expand/maximize?
I'm aware that you can zoom in and out of frames, but I'm hoping that the overall window can be bigger.

I noticed that the logo was listed as zero throughout and I saw the following in the logfile. What does this mean and what parameters affect it (there is a legitimate logo that I can see in the show)?
Not enough or too much logo's found (0.30), disabling the use of Logo detection

During the screenshot, the current frame is the middle of a sizable commercial segment that was not detected (score is zero throughout). I'm trying to understand the meaning of the colors and the lines so that I can figure what (other than the lack of logo detection) might be excluding this segment.

The yellow line signals the amount of logo detected
You may have a logo that changes from time to time. A possible solution is to set
logo_filter=4 ; or higher
After "Logo = 0.00" there are some letters specifying the scoring and cause for the the at the end of the current block.
"6 { " signal heuristics H6 got activated. This could be wrong for you situation. Suggest to disable this heuristic (or maybe all heuristics
disable_heuristics=255 ; Please check if this is the right name

YOu can enlarge the window to show the full text below the time bar at the top but you can not enlarge the size of the black/white video
