Quicksync support

Quicksync support

Sorry if this was already announced and I missed it. Does anyone know if the donators version of comskip supports quicksync to aid in the video processing?

TBH, no. I've been running com skip that ships in the TVH docker container which I'm sure is the free edition. I'm happy to download the most recent donators build (I'm doing this on linux) but I really have no idea how to tell if it's using QS at all.

No need to tell comskip
Use your current comskip and feed it a quicksync file and see what happens.
If it can't decode the video it will tell you

We are wondering about Intel QuickSync HW acceleration built-in on Intel CPUs.

I'm not a codec expert.
If ffmpeg can do it may be in comskip

Right. Comskip is a bit less of a problem since I setup my new server. I passed down a core i7 6700k (I just upgraded to a ryzen 3700x). Still since com skip needs to process the video it can certainly benefit from QS hw decoding so I was wondering if CS was doing that.

i7-6700K is the Sky-Lake family and ffmpeg supports the following HW acceleration: H.264, MPEG-2, VP8, and H.265 encode.
