I'm in the process of trying to tune a fairly difficult show, and I can't figure out how to convince comskip that it needs more cutpoints. There's one problematic section of the show that consists of about 8 minutes of show, 3 minutes of commercial, and 8 more minutes of show, but turns into roughly a 15 minute block followed by a 4 minute block. It is an hour-long show, with only 17 identified blocks.
In the log file, I see that it identified at least 20 scene change and some silence cutpoints, but is throwing them out. Is there a way to force comskip to accept these as potential cutpoints?
Confidence of SceneChange cutting: 12 out of 20 are strict, too low
Confidence of Uniform cutting: 6 out of 14 are strict
Confidence of Volume cutting: 4 out of 9 are strict, too low
I've tried setting max_volume, non-uniformity, min_silence, and schange_threshold both much higher and much lower, but none of them seem to increase the number of blocks.
Thanks!
help with cutpoints
There is not much you can do at the moment.
The new "confidence" algoritm still does require some tuning.
I have to add some parameters in the ini file for that.
Will be done in the next release
COuld you mail me the .csv file so I can use it for testing?
Preferrably with your ini file and a .ref file (an edited .txt file) with the right commercial block information?
