and I read that it indicates that Comskip was unable to decode the audio from the stream. I am using Comskip 0.80.030 and was wondering if this might be a codec problem, a problem with my file (It seems to play fine), or a comskip problem and if there was something I could do about it? Re: Getting lots of -1 volume?
During the decoding process the decoding of video can run ahead of the decoding of the audio.
If a black frame is detected this could results in a log file entry stating that the volume for that frame is -1
As soon as the audio for that frame is decoded the audio level information will be updated.
The simplest way to see if audio got detected is to look at the end of the log file to see what maximum volume has been detected. Any value above 0 should be OK
