Comskip.ini for US television stations

I am working on a custom project that takes recorded files from numerous US TV stations and runs them through Comskip to identify commercial breaks. The set of stations is not standard but mostly in HD. Files are recorded in .ts format through HLS. I am trying to learn how to optimize comskip.ini using all available pod detection methods (I use detect_method=255 in the standard .ini file) but am seeing both false positives as well as negatives. What would be the best approach to start optimizing the default comskip,ini further?
